Sydney Zoo has a large scale light festival that consists of designed 3D light sculptures. I was selected to be in one of three teams that each designed an installation. We were tasked to design a light sculpture for the aquarium wall. The space was 4 x 5 metres. We had to consider the scale, how visitors would interact with it as well as creating possible ‘selfie opportunities’ all with an aquatic theme. As a team we which each illustrated parts of the final design. Once our design was approved it was then sent to the manufactures who translated it into a 3D light sculpture. The 2025 GLOW Fest saw more than 100 000 visitors over its 39 nights.
